I came across these fabulous plastic bags today. They are part of a project by Josh Blackwell titled, Plastic Baskets.

wedding peek
Something else to share with you that has been handmade for our wedding - a ring cushion. I hand embroidered a wreath similar to the one on our RSVP postcards (which you can see in the above pic too) also on the front of the ring cushion is a navy ribbon to hold our rings. The reverse side is in the same blue as the top but with a cream doily overlay. It looks better than it sounds, promise.
I hope to get better photographs of the handmade items in our wedding to show you at some point too but for now anyway you get the idea. Which reminds me, I need to photography and show you our invites in full too!

raging bull
Fantastically bizarre signage spotted recently on a trip to the country. I'm pretty sure this isn't new but I hadn't noticed it before. If you were an animal on your way to get butchered you would be screaming with eyes bulging too - no?! Also I'm not sure if you can read it but on the window in handwriting is 'Mum's 50th Birthday Special' - you've gotta love a small country town!

small treasures
Craft Hatch was on at the State Library yesterday, I had a little bit of time to spare to help out the lovely Jess of Teddy Bear's Wednesday and check out the rest of the stands. What a fantastic selection of crafters it was! Madeline from Made by Mosey was there selling her lovely bunting, mobiles and mini quilts. They are so divine, you really must see them in person! I was also very lucky to pick up some treats from the gorgeous Emily Green. Her work is so colourful and happy, the perfect accessories to cheer up a black Melbourne outfit I reckon, or to add more colour if your already a bit colourful, like me! I also got a couple of Able and Game cards while I was there. I love these cards!
Some other crafters new to me which caught my eye included Jill Hermans and her incredible jewllery and Tilli Michelle who was selling some really sweet dresses. There were so many really - this was a great market. I didn't have my camera with me but if you head over to Jess's blog I saw she has put some pics up already.
While I was out yesterday I also picked up this mini little white rabbit for a friends birthday, she is a collector of mini things and this little guy was just too cute to walk by. I took a pic with the pin in shot so you could get an idea of how small he is. He is no more than 20mm high! So cute!

off and racing
It is Spring Racing time around these parts and a friend of mine asked me to create something she could use as part of an invite for a racing event she was putting together. The above college was what I came up with. I wish I'd taken a better photo (the stitching is silver which you can't really see) but it was a late night job or it was never going to get done along with everything for the wedding and other Handmade Romance crafty order stuff that still needs to be done!! I'm feeling pretty chaotic this week. I hope you've had a good one.

teddy bear, teddy bear
Oh my goodness!!! Have you seen what the lovely Jess of Teddy Bear's Wednesday has been up to?! I know! Pretty darn cute right?!
Jess is going to be selling - the most beautiful line-up to grace the back of a couch that I have every seen, at the next Craft Hatch market on Saturday 23rd October, at the special Craft Hatch venu - State Library of Victoria. I can not wait. There are going to be many more goodies there too, some of which have been seen over here all this week.
I think you should make it, if you can. Oh and how adorable is the above image? Apart from the before mentioned lineup, I'm loving the one random odd flower in the pattern on Jess's couch. See it?

counting down
Today marks one month exactly until our wedding day. EEK! YAY! Eeeek!!
I can not believe how quickly time is going!! Hasn't this year just flown by? I'm sure it's not just me feeling this way, even without wedding shenanigans I think I'd be feeling the same. Anywho soon I will be wed and be somebodies wife. Wife. The word wife seems super strange to me. Does it to you, if you are a newlywed? Or did it at the time you got married? Did you get used to it? Do you even get referred to as this? Do you say partner instead? Do you even care? Probably not. That's ok. I'm just curious.

out of time
Sadly my weekend didn't have enough hours in it for me to make it over to the the market mentioned below. Probably not such a bad thing given we are saving for our upcoming wedding and honeymoon and I highly doubt I would have left empty handed! I did however spot one very lucky person who managed to make it and scored herself a wonderful selection of loot. One place I did pass on my weekend travels was a sweet op-shop where I picked up the above little treasures. I'm loving the coloured doilies.
I hope you had a lovely weekend!

wedding peek
Things for our own wedding are ticking along. This weekend gone there was some work done on table numbers, mini hearts matching the 60 odd meters of larger hearts I've shown you before (I'm not sure there's 60m but it's possible) and little thank-yous for our guests.
As you can see I had my helper pitching in too but she mostly sleeps on the job! L a z y! Sheesh.

wedding wrap-up : part II
So Im a bit late since I said in Part 1 this would be a weekly wrap-up, lets just say it will happen when it happens, roughly weekly. No pressure. I like it that way! Let's get started on Part II.
Wedding receptions with campfires and marshmallows, looks divine and what a fun way to end the day! Photo by Kari Crowe.
Such a pretty table. Styled by the aptly titled company Gorgeous. (via The Design Files)
A pre-wedding story about working through the really hard times and sticking together.
You know I'm a fan of a New York City Hall wedding. Here is another done simply, stylishly and happily. Love it!
Happy feet! The bride wore golden TOMS, shoes that help others and a pink dress no less. What a bride!
I had been waiting to catch a glimpse of the wedding between Jessica (of What I Wore) and Adam and here it is! They held a flower harvest the day before the wedding to harvest family flowers for their day. Very special huh?!
