counting down

Today marks one month exactly until our wedding day. EEK! YAY! Eeeek!!

I can not believe how quickly time is going!! Hasn't this year just flown by? I'm sure it's not just me feeling this way, even without wedding shenanigans I think I'd be feeling the same. Anywho soon I will be wed and be somebodies wife. Wife. The word wife seems super strange to me. Does it to you, if you are a newlywed? Or did it at the time you got married? Did you get used to it? Do you even get referred to as this? Do you say partner instead? Do you even care? Probably not. That's ok. I'm just curious.

The above picture is of some more handmade bits I have in progress for the wedding at the moment. There are a few more to go so hopefully there will be enough time between now and then!

Oh my goodness how exciting Evie!!
I'm loving your bits your showed here of what you're making. I think it's going to be one special wedding.
I totes agree about the word wife and husband for the matter. And I'm not married or even with someone.
When I have been ( not married that is) I tend to call them their name, because Im not a huge fan of partner either. xo

wife is a strange name if you have never been called it before but its one of the nicest things I've ever been called.

I don't really like partner cos its kinda ambiguous. They could be a business associate, dance partner, boyfriend/girlfriend. Although maybe you like to leave people guessing???

Wow, your wedding is obviously going to be incredible with all your amazing touches. Have you seen the seinfeld episode where jerry pretends to be married and tells kramer wife is an incredible way to start a sentence, kramer tries it out "my wife has a middle ear infection ..." So funny. Being unmarried, I can only imagine that it'll be a very fun new way to refer to yourself and new husband!

This is so funny.....one of those things you don't really think about until somebody says something. I've been married for 4 years now and I still feel like giggling under my breath when my 'husband' introduces me as his 'wife'. When we were dating I use to always just call him his name.....and just assumed people would guess he was my boyfriend. I don't know why but I've never liked the term 'boyfriend' or 'partner'. Weird huh! Anyway, enjoy the month leading up to your big day....I can't wait to see photos. Have the loveliest of days Evie and an even better weekend. xo

Ooh yay! A month more! : ) I guess wife, partner, lover, boyfriend, etc it's pretty much the same. As long as you both are so in love, everything works I guess. Haha

And gosh! Those handmade bits are so lovely!

You're getting married on my birthday! When we got married I thought, for some reason, it would be romantic to get married on my birthday but Geoff insisted I wouldn't like to share in the years to come. He was right, so we opted for the 7th instead. It's the best time of year to marry!

Oh and in response to your question about how it feels. I remember we moved to the UK a week after we married and in the process of packing up and cleaning our rental flat we had carpet cleaning booked. The phone rang when Geoff was out and it was Myer cleaning services and the woman asked for MRS Hargreaves. I said, and I do not tell a lie, that's my mother in law, but she's not here right now. We figured it out, but hearing my name as something else was a big shock for quite a while.

So excited for you!
Thanks for sharing all your handmade wedding loveliness with us.
After 3 years of marriage I still giggle like a schoolgirl when someone calls me 'Mrs Sargent'! I'm with Victoria up there....I always think they are asking for my mother-in-law xx

Your wedding looks beautiful and completly full of love. I can't wait to see the pictures. It will be an amazing and beautiful day.

It took me a little while to adjust. I even struggled with calling Ash my fiancé, but after we were married, I was fine. It just felt so special to be husband and wife. It still makes me smile. xx

very exciting! i think the strangest change when getting married (one day...) will be being called 'mrs.BLANK.' that, to me, ages me years and years!

I can only imagine how much handmade goodness is going to be included in your wedding.

Our 5th wedding anniversary is coming up on the 12th of Nov!

...just don't call him "the hubby" makes me cringe every time.

Oh that craftiness looks wonderful, I can't wait to see more! Best of luck with the coming month and enjoy it! Yes, being called a wife was hilarious at first and 8 months later it's still kind of weird, but I am much mroe used to it and have a fondness for it now, though I still feel I should be in a 50s dress & apron, holding a plate of cookies any time the word gets used. :)

At the 1 year and 10 day mark of my marriage, hearing my husband call me his wife still brings a smile to my face. I hope it always will.
