Hmm I wonder if we need those potatoes...?
hand dyeing
A couple of days ago I was randomly searching Google, as you do, with the words 'hand dyeing'. I don't know exactly what I was looking for but I did come across this wonderful link to Shabd's gorgeous, hand dyed clothing.
Along the windy search I also came across an old Refinery 29 DIY Tutorial, by Catlin Mociun using a potato stamp and a cheap dress! The end result looks fab. So simple too.
Then today I spotted another potato stamp tutorial over on Design*Sponge by the lovely Lotta Jansdotter. Did you see it? Such a cute tote she made from fabric stamped with her 3 year old son.
Hmm I wonder if we need those potatoes...?

Thanks for all of Millie's well-wishes. She is now doing fabulously and back to her old self.Something else a little cheery and fabulous (in my opinion) are these hand-painted porcelain pieces by Brazilian artist Carol W. Found via Duduá. All of the above pics are from Carol's Flickr and she also has an Etsy store.
new beards

While spending time close by the side of my sick little friend below, I finished a couple of new brown-haired bearded blokes for my store and packed up some more for a wholesale order. There was also lots of stitching done for a secret project. I will reveal more as soon as I can. It will be a goodie!!
get well
Poor little buddy has been sick all weekend after a vet visit on Friday night. We called the vets for advice again today and there is hope she will be better in 24 hrs, if not, back to the vets. It seems to be a reaction from her annual injection which makes her limp, sore to touch and more sleepy than usual. It's no fun when you can't communicate to find out what can be done to make things better.
ginger beards & bow ties
The Ginger Beard and I would like to say a big thank you to the lovely people who have made us part of their fabulous handpicked Etsy Treasuries recently. We are totally honoured to be selected as part of your beautiful collection of items.
Here are two I managed to screengrabs, another was missed as I didn't realise they expired! Oh well. Thankyou all the same Julie.
Below is truthfully titled (I think), Redheads Rule!, by Ifat from Private Collection - seller of cute vintage clothing.
And this one is by the talented Belinda from Gretchen Mist, a local Melbournian who creates lots of beautiful work in my favourite colour - green!

And since I couldn't resist joining in below is a snippet of my very first Treasury titled, BOW TIES. Check it out in full if you want to.

tiggy
I have been lucky enough to be tagged and awarded by some very lovely ladies. Thank you Cecilia (Veja Cecilia), Melinda (Moose & Bird) and Jess (Teddy Bear's Wednesday), I know these were from forever-ago and I promise I have had very good intentions to play along so better late than never right?!
Since two of these were to reveal seven things about myself and I have done similar posts before I thought it might be nice to do something a little different, as part of the Sunshine Award from Melinda I get to nominate 12 blogs that inspire and brighten my day. Here goes!
1. Inspired By This
2. A Practical Wedding
3. East Side Bride
4. Snippet and Ink
5. 100 Layer Cake
6. Polka Dot Bride
7. Ruffled
8. Once Wed
9. Rock N Roll Bride
10. The Ritzy Bee Blog
11. Green Wedding Shoes
12. iDiY
Noticed a theme did you? Ooops. Is that cheating? I hope not.
Seriously though at this moment in my life these blogs are inspiring and brightening my day. Some for their eye-candy (of which there is LOTS), the stories of love, good and bad wedding planning experiences, tips, advice and most importantly keeping true to yourself through the whole process.
In all honesty I was struggling to pick 12 non-wedding blogs, not for the lack of choice more over who to choose, who was getting left out. So instead, for fun and for those who may need a wedding blog or 12 in your day right now the list above is also for you!

handmade win
This pretty package arrived on my door step yesterday. How lucky am I to have won one of Kylie from 3 Sheets' beautiful handmade brooches?! I know! Lucky. I love it. Thank you Kylie.

Thanks for all of your lovely comments on the below post too. I was doubting the size of the hearts and trying not to stress with 200 already done. Don't sweat the small stuff right?! Hmm weddings.

project wedding : 1
Project Wedding has begun!
Some of you who follow my blog may already know, my partner and I are get married later this year. It's not too far away really. For those who know nothing about our wedding I won't reveal the date just yet. Some of you who have done the whole wedding-thing before could have heart palpitations knowing how last minute we seem.
Project 1 - Paper Heart Garlands. Made from old Atlas pages, inspired by this and by the overseas trip we were on when we became engaged!

200 paper hearts strung, another 200 or so to go!
I plan to share some of our handmade projects with you and so as to not bore those with no interest in weddings, I will do my best to keep it to the handmade.

sweet treats
I thought I'd share more pages of Frankie's Sweet Treats book with you. The pretty pictures themselves are rather a sweet treat! Enjoy.

mum's day
To all the lovely Mum's out there, I hope you had a wonderful day and were spoilt as much as you deserve to be. I honestly don't know how you do what you do. You are very special ladies.
My Mum was treated to some homemade goodies from the new Frankie, Sweet Treats book and Country Women's Association, Biscuits and Slices cookbook which is choc-full of yummy Nanna style recipes!
From the Frankie, Sweet Treats book we made Cherry Surprises. A fitting pick as my Mum is a Cherry Ripe girl. Needless to say these were a hit.
And from the Country Women's Association, Biscuits and Slices cookbook some Pecan Nut Slice. Yum.
Along with some pretty flowers and a family lunch, I'd say Mum had a pretty good day.
Love you Mum.

feeling horny?
Ha! Ha! Now that I have your attention, check out these horny-hatted, little vikings I've recently come across. Cool no?!
Oh and vikings are bearded blokes too which makes them super-cool in my book!

cat lover alert
Look away now if you're a cat lover without an online cat-site addiction!
You can look at pics of Millie from the weekend instead but I strongly advise not to click through to the links below. If you choose to, don't say I didn't warn you!

For those of you who can't resist... I've only recently been introduced to dreamcats and The Catorialist.
I'm hooked.

super sunday
After discovering a mysterious leak in our spare room yesterday which left my pinboard water damaged, special papers ruined, books with unsightly watermarks and some unfinished crafting destroyed I am happy to say, today was by far a better day!
While checking my emails over breakfast I discovered I'd won this!
I then met up with the lovely Jess for coffee and some market shopping where I scored a beautiful, little jug from Hungary and the cutest, felt, bunny brooch handmade by Lila, aged 7. This could be a new fav!
My afternoon was then filled finishing bearded blokes (in my shop this week), drinking lots of tea and being watched over by my two crafting buddies - Mr Buttcrack and Millie!
Today gets better. I kid you not. I can now smell a roast cooking in our kitchen and I am not the cook.

Hope you've had a super Sunday too!
Oh and I tried one of these for the first time this weekend - indulgent and YUM! As well as read the first issue of this super new online mag.
