Back in November I made this post about creating tiled patterns. I am still yet to try anything more considered however it seems that while waiting for files to save or talking on the phone when at work my wandering hand doodles away with its own crazy ideas!
So it is still February which means Mike's make-a-long project is all about felt! If you're not sure what Mike's make-a-long project is I suggest you stop by here to find out more and to take a look what everyone has been felting-a-long see here.
My felt-a-long ended up being a little green bow brooch. Not exactly what I had pictured but I think it turned out ok for a bit of fun. And as yesterday was Silly Sunday at my house, yes, that second photo below is the dashing Ben Harper with my bow in his hair! Is it wrong I am so easily entertained?
A beautiful little package arrived in the mail this week...I should have photographed the packaging to show you too as it was adorable, I always forget to do these things though.
In the pack was my brand new resin bangle purchase from Hokey's etsy store. It even came with an extra little treasure which was such a lovely surprise and completely made my day!! They are both rather divine don't you think? Perfect colour and cute swirls! Even better, 100% of the sales at Hokey's etsy shop are currently going to Wildlife Victoria to support the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Thanks Hollie for being such a gem, making and supporting wonderful things.
A couple of days ago I picked up some pretty, little pieces of goodness at this fantastic shop... keep an eye out, they may appear in a craft project being posted here soon!
Also, I made these delicious, little coconut cupcakes tried and tested over at Vegan and Vintage. They sure were good! Well, there are a couple left and I have been sharing, promise.
Yesterday while I was busy making Becka's yummy hummus (see below) she was busy playing a game of tag. It goes a little something like this... open the 6th photo in the 6th folder on your computer, blog about it and tag six others. I'm cheating a little and not individually tagging 6 others as I see a lot of you have already played. Please if you haven't feel free to join in and if you want leave a comment to let me know you have posted I would love to see what number 6 is for you!
My 6th pic is from Christmas time 2007. My partner and I were on our way from spending Christmas with our families in northern Victoria back to Melbourne, where we live and spent a couple of nights at this cute little mud brick cottage in Daylesford. It was our first visit to Daylesford. We had a gorgeous time, mostly relaxing. We ate yummy food and did a little second hand shopping, well that was mostly me! I bought the cutest second hand kids book I will post it soon so you can see.
A little while ago, well perhaps more than a little... shall we say last year some time the lovely Becka from Bliss in a Teacup gave me her special hummus recipe. Tonight I finally got around to making said recipe and it was delicious! I will definitely be making this again, it was simple (how I like it) and as Becka's suggested, went down a treat in tortilla wraps with veggies and chutney. Thanks again Becka!
Five fab new (to me) places I visited this week online.

Happy Friday!
Mike's is hosting a make-a-long project every month this year. Sounds like fun to me! Plus I think I could do with the extra bit of creative motivation to get me through. I plan to join in as much as I can. If you want to as well you can read more here.
Does it count if I made these little felt mushrooms in January? Perhaps not. I'll be fair and stick to the correct month. Hmm now what to make...
Someone is glad there is a cooler change. This is Millie the cats favourite place in our apartment. It's the window sill in our spare room which gets the afternoon sun. With all the heat here last week we had to keep the blind closed to stop things melting! Well almost melting.
I love these photos by the Bea Szenfeld Fashion Team for Bea Szenfeld Autumn/Winter 08/09 shoot. Aren't they great? Theatrical and minimalist. Thanks to Desing For Mankind for sharing them in the first place.
I love theatrical photo shoots.
My all time favourite fashion photogrpher would have to be Tim Walker who creates the most amazing images full of imagination and theatrics. This mans work always evokes such excitement and inspiration in me. I often wish I could step into his images and wander around like Alice in Wonderland, soaking up every detail! This book is definitely on my wish list for '09!
