final five

Here are the final five Bow Tie Boys I have been working on and which you saw a sneak peak of below. I will be selling these at next weekends market.

sneak peek

At the moment my evenings are filled with making, above is a snippet of what I've been up to. There has also been a bit of wedding blog lurking and I'm completely smitten with Max and Margaux's wedding - the decorations, the handmade hearts, her two dresses, the colour!! Have you seen it? Once Wed have heaps of photos up this week and their ceremony video is over on 100 Layer Cake. Max also has some pics over on his website.

Pretty vintage dish found over at Lucy and Ethel's Etsy store.

yay for me!

This morning marked the last day of a 9 week running program I have been doing called, Couch to 5k. I'm pretty proud I got through to the end since I don't have a good track record when it comes to exercise, although not really the end as I plan to continue running now that I can (kind-of, I still need lots of practice!).

It took me about 11 weeks to do as I repeated a couple when I felt I needed improving before moving on. Still, I am pretty happy to have completed this challenge and to end on a high note check out the rainbow that was in the sky when I finished this morning. No kidding! Pretty awesome huh!!? I took these photos off our balcony once I got home and really they do little justice to the size and colour of this beauty!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

bow tie boy

Meet Bow Tie Boy. He likes to ponder and whistle gentle tunes as he walks through town discovering new places. He is the first handmade, softie doll I have made since this one for Sandra in an Artist Exchange. I can't believe how long it has been since then and I'm hoping to make many more and many different kinds from now on. I love the process of making them and watching their personalities appear.

sock it to me

First I would like to say thank you for all of the lovely comments on the below post! Second, I would like to share with you the cutest little sock brooch I recently purchased after stumbling across creator, Laura McKellar's wonderful blog. This sock is even cuter in real life - trust me. And check out the sweet postcard and little pouch it arrived in. It also turns our Laura has a stall at the same Craft Hatch market I'm participating in! Awesome. I can't wait to see more of Laura's creations in person and another reason you should stop by too. Laura is one clever gal...have you seen her amazing embroidery skills!!? Wow!

about face

These little faces are hand drawn gift tags I made last week. They will be available at the market I am taking part in on Sunday, August 8th. For more details on the market take a look over here, there are so many amazing stallholders I can't wait (I am also a little nervous, they are so good). I will continue to show you more as time gets nearer. If you are going to be in Melbourne I hope you will be able to come past and say hello!

pick a colour, any colour

Picking a colour palette for ones own wedding is harder than it looks. What about mult-colour?! Then no colour is left out. Yeah. That would be fair wouldn't it? Oh, why am I so shite at making decisions for myself (I know it is our wedding but the boy doesn't seem overly fussed in this area)?!

elope to nyc

There is something about the simplicity of a happy elopement that I love. We had considered this option ourselves however in the end decided on a small wedding shared with family and close friends.

One of my favourite sets of elopement photos are of this beautiful London couple, Montse and James who skipped town to NYC to tie-the-knot. Their photos were posted over on Brooklyn Bride back in January and I've had them bookmarked since. Taken by Stephanie Land who was also their only witness, they capture such a gentle, romantic and loving vibe... and make an elopement (especially to NYC) so, so tempting!

Not much to say really. This shit is rad. Where can I get me a knitting machine?

little o(h so lovely)

How lovely are these necklaces from a fellow Melbourne, Etsy seller, Little O by Wolfbrother?!

I am curious to know more. There are so few words in your profile... no blog, no website? Of course this is completely fine, I just like to snoop about when I find something of interest to see what other amazing things you are creating.

I did however spot a note about these pieces being created by sisterly duo, Dee Dee and Lily. Well sisters I like your style and a bit of mystery. Now tell me girls, 'Is your brother a wolf?' Sorry. Out of line?

summer bliss

Just a quick post to let you know I have made a guest post over at the ever lovely Bliss in a Teacup. Check it out if you wish. It's all about Etsy (clearly my obsession) and Summer!

Thanks Becka for inviting me to share something with your readers. x

Little heart shaped lollies made from this Sweet Treats recipe book!
These were a bit of a trial run to see how much colour and flavour to add. The next lot I do I would like to add stamped messages just like in the book. But first I need to get me a stamp set!

what I've been making

I've knitted my largest beard to date. A display for a market (my first!) I'm participating in during August. Plus making plenty of stock of the little Bearded Blokes, working full-time, planning a wedding and trying to make enough time for family and friends. Life is busy but I have a feeling the next 6 months are going to be amazing. I can't wait. Bring on the second half of 2010! Happy 1st of July peoples!
