project wedding : 1

Project Wedding has begun!

Some of you who follow my blog may already know, my partner and I are get married later this year. It's not too far away really. For those who know nothing about our wedding I won't reveal the date just yet. Some of you who have done the whole wedding-thing before could have heart palpitations knowing how last minute we seem.

Project 1 - Paper Heart Garlands. Made from old Atlas pages, inspired by this and by the overseas trip we were on when we became engaged!

200 paper hearts strung, another 200 or so to go!

I plan to share some of our handmade projects with you and so as to not bore those with no interest in weddings, I will do my best to keep it to the handmade.

aw how lovely! congrats! also, if you would like me to help out with any of your handmade romance decorations, feel free to send me the supplies and I will make what you want and send it back. I know how overwhelming a lot of handmade stuff can feel, especially when you are on a time budget! sometimes when i want to fold a million paper cranes for whatever reason, the zen element dimishes with the sheer exhaustion of the repetition. So yeah, send me an email if you need a hand. inthelightofthesun@gmail.com

Evie, they are beautiful. What a great idea.

And, if it makes you feel any better – we organised our wedding in about 6 weeks (um, or less). I mean granted it was pretty crappy but everyone had a fun day. It was perfect for us, and I'm sure you're wedding will be perfect for you.

Can't wait to see the updates. x

Oh Evie, these are so fantastic! Richard and I did most of our own decorating, table settings, etc for our wedding and neither of us are known for getting things done in plenty of time, ha! I wouldn't have had it any other way though, and while I'm sure some people thought we were crazy I'm so glad we did things they way we did, not just to be in control of it all, but so the wedding was truly ours, you know?

I know yours is going to be amazing, I'm looking forward to seeing what else you've got up your sleeve!
