Hello! It's February already. How'd that happen?! At the start of this year I promised myself I'd make more time for the things I love, one of which was to draw more. Not in my usual way. In a deliberate way. I doodle silly faces all the time. I hardly every refine or experiment creatively with drawing. At least that is how it feels. It wasn't always that way. I loved spending hours drawing and colouring as a kid, even in my high school years. Somewhere along the way however time became filled with other things. Computer, anyone?
These days I mostly draw on a subconscious level when chatting on the phone, waiting for the computer to start-up or go faster, waiting for a meeting to start, waiting for a meeting to finish... you get the idea.
So, since February is the month of love with Valentine's Day in the middle I thought I'd dedicate my month to doing something I love. Each day in February I promise myself I will sit down for at least 30 minutes and draw. To give myself focus and not to become overwhelmed by what to illustrate my subject will be characters and faces - since I love them too, of course! I promise to have fun, experiment and enjoy the process, remembering not to get caught up in the outcome. I also promise to share what I create with you here on this blog!
Today being 4th Feb I'm playing catch-up with the past 3 days but that's ok, all will be on track tomorrow!
Perhaps there's something you love and would like to do more often this month?
