revisiting stitches from the past

It's always a touch sad undoing something made by hand, knowing the time involved and the moments in life it holds from when it was created. I also feel there's little point hanging on to something, especially a garment, if you aren't wearing it as intended. At least that's how I felt about this piece — once a knitted vest I posted about back in 2008 — that was being horribly neglected. Exactly what it's second life will be I not entirely sure. Any suggestions? What's in your cupboard that you have made and know it could be put to better use?

Good call! I did feel kind of funny about donating my first-ever handknit cardigan, but I'm a believer in moving things along... Yours is a nice neutral - maybe a mix with some other odds and ends for a throw?
