I love how portable crocheting
is. How easily it is to pick up and start again after leaving it a while.
This granny-square-style, crocheted baby's blanket is something I
have been working on slowly. Bit by bit. You saw a peek last month.
This blanket was not entirely made by myself. An unlikely collaboration took place. A small beginning, in white, was made by an elderly lady who sadly passed away. That beginning along with a whole pile of wool and other unrealised projects was given to my nana. My nana, yet to get around to doing anything with it passed it on to
me.
And this is my result.
I love it!
I love that a new life has been given to an unfinished, possibly even forgotten, project. Perhaps not finished as per it's originally intent but a second chance all the same.
P.S.
Have you seen Madeline's most magical Craft Victoria window display? A M A Z I N G!

How wonderful! Such a sweet blanket and great story behind it.
This is so pretty, and all the more special for the story behind it. My goal for Winter is to master crocheting so this is some good inspiration for me.
You have made something really beautiful from that small granny and the pile of yarn. What a lovely piece to have. I hope you are hanging on to it! :)
Great work on the blankie, the pop of colour as the border really makes it.
I love a good crafting story!!

It's utterly gorgeous Evie and am so glad you love it. I do too.
I love the story behind it too, your nana would be proud and love it too xo
Hi Evie! You've done a beautiful job, love the story behind it, and the colour combo ;)

It's wonderful Evie... beautiful work :) Kx
Oh I love that about it too. That you've taken it over with fresh beginning, the old becomes new again, inter-generational, life continues. The more you think about it the better it is.
Love it's simplicity and sweetness too. Beautiful.
