heidi

Today is my birthday so I thought I'd indulge a little with a picture heavy post and share a place I adore with you. Heidi. A must see if ever this way. Once home to John and Sunday Reed and affectionately named after nearby suburb Heidelberg.

My favourite thing at Heidi is the Kitchen Garden near the new home, surrounded by a cute picket fence.

This sculpture always reminds me of beehives however it is titled, Scales, by Peter Rosman 1987...? Does anyone no anymore about this piece. I should ask next time I am there.

There are many cute paths.

Including the Stein path.

The cattery by the old house is another of my favourite parts of Heidi. I like to imagine what the cats where like. Who was the boss, who was the smooch etc. A little overgrown these days perhaps...

...although even overgrown the gardens look beautiful.

The old house - Heidi I.

And the new house - Heidi II.

Happy Friday!

I love the kitchen garden at Heidi too, it's my favourite part, and all the old houses and bits. Although I didn't know about the cattery.

Hey Happy Birthday Evie! Hoping you have a wonderful day filled with smiles, hugs and warm fuzzy moments. Or sugary treats, those are good too! Heidi looks so lovely, I haven't done any Victorian travel outside of Melbs, I would love to some day. When I saw the post title, I thought for a moment it might be about one of my favourite childhood books!
Have a lovely day in the light of the sun! xx

Happy birthday. It's a glorious place isn't it? I took the train and a bus out to see it when I was in Melbourne a couple of years back and it was well worth it - even the getting lost because the directions to it are not that clear when using public transport. The kitchen garden is AMAZING.

Happy Birthday - I hope you had a lovely day. I agree, it's gorgeous and the kids love it. I've only ever paid for two exhibitions there, but love that space too. I once harboured a dream of running the cafe there, but that was before I heard Shannon was also interested - long before.

Happy Birthday Evie!!!

What a lovely day you had, it's a tad naughty that I have never been to Heidi yet. But after seeing your beautiful photos and reading your lovely post I think I'll be going sooner rather than later.

P.S. (I LOVE your new shop)!!!!
