i see a rainbow

A double rainbow in fact. Spotted on my way home tonight. The second rainbow is very faint, you can just see it to the right in this pic. And some good ol' Melbourne tram lines are in view as well.

Cute. I'm glad I'm not the only one who still 'ooohs' when they see rainbows ;)

I love rainbows. I always feel like a little girl when I see them. How lucky are you to see two!

The perfect way to end a chilly Melbourne day!

I was fascinated to learn years ago that the band of sky between two double rainbows is called "Alexanders Dark Band" and is slightly darker than the rest of the sky - all to do with the light that is being bent.

The secondary rainbow also has a reverse order of colours.

Can you tell that I have always been obsessed with colour?

Double the luck perhaps? I always love finding rainbows too. :)

PS. Sorry I haven't sent your giveaway goodies yet. I'm afraid hubby has had my car this week and last, and the post office walk is much to far for me and the baby in the pram to accomplish! As I will have my car back next week I promise to post it then! Hope it is worth the wait.

What I think is so so beautiful about this picture
is the faintness of the second wire of the tramline cross.

Do you think the rainbow went into the chimney?
it looks like it did, can you imagine being at home, hanging around the hearth, oblivious of the double arc above your roof and bang, a pot of gold appears in the fireplace- if only for a second....

..a bit like finding your lovely blog!
