girlie pains

The pics above are of the latest Girlie Pains Mini Comic zine set which can be found over here. Crafted by Mel Stringer who's handiwork is regularly seen gracing the pages of much loved Frankie magazine, this little zine set came with a sweet handwritten note from Mel herself! Awe.

I'm intrigued by Ms Stringer and her work, it's youthful, sometimes a little cheeky / sad / angry, and often in-your-face yet still pretty and feminine. There is a realness and true energy to it that I really like! Mel also does some amazing portrait work which you can see over on her Flickr pages. I think these are super fantastic and well worth a look! If you want more on Mel she has a blog too.

Her style is so honest. I'll have to go back through my frankies and take a closer look

That comic zine looks very cute. I was just searching for lovely zines (the zine-world is still new to me), so thanks for sharing this one!

Thank you also for the link for the cute puppy with the heart!!! I want that puppy!!!!! Spray painting a white heart on my cat just wouldn't be the same.
