Amsterdam is amazing. Charming, friendly and so much to see. We stayed in the Jordaan district where canals intersect. The sun didn't set until 11pm. Bikes! There were so many bikes gracefully swirling the city streets like an eloquently choreographed dance. Only once did we see a rider fall. And cats. Lots of big sleepy cats in shop window soaking up the warm sun. I wish I photographed the cats but I didn't, not even one. Instead here are photos with a black and white theme to get started.
1. Giant sauna skull by Joep van Lieshout, part of ArtZuid an International Sculpture Route on until 22nd September.
2. The Anne Frank museum. A lovingly curated story with input from Anne's dad, Otto.
3. Interactive licorice squares! Also part of ArtZuid.
4. Hand painted sign-writing everywhere. Later I found an article on I Love Typography titled, Krul and the Untold History of the Amsterdamse Krulletter. Take a read if you'd like to discover more.

Great photos! Love the black and white theme :) Sounds like you had a wonderful time.
So envious! We went to Amsterdam, first trip after London on our honeymoon 15 years ago, would love to go back with money to spend!
I wanted to ask some art supply advice Evie and I've changed our mail provider and lost your email - would you mind responding and I'll send to you rather than clogging up this comment? Vx
Sounds like you're having a ball. Love Amsterdam's cats, and the way they seem to be languishing everywhere, even on pub tables! That skull is awesome.
